Privacy Policy

Who this app is for

NavodayaStudiz accounts are created and managed by a parent or guardian on behalf of a student. Wherever this policy refers to "you", it means the parent or guardian who registered the account, unless the context is specifically about the student's own exam-preparation activity within it.

Information we collect

• Account details: the parent's phone number (used to log in), the parent's name and email address, and the student's name and class. The phone number is the account's unique identifier; the email address is used only to send a password-reset code, never for login or marketing.
• Password/PIN: stored as a one-way cryptographic hash (bcrypt) — we cannot see or recover your actual password or PIN, including if you contact us for support.
• Payment information: when you enroll in a paid exam catalog, payment is processed entirely by Razorpay, our payment gateway partner. We never see or store your card, UPI or bank details — we only receive confirmation that a payment succeeded, its amount, and a reference id.
• Device information: a device identifier for the Android app, used only to enforce one active login per account (logging in on a new device signs the previous one out) and to prevent unauthorized sharing of a single paid account.
• Enquiry form details: if you contact us through the website's enquiry form, we collect the name, phone number, class and message you choose to submit, to respond to your enquiry.

How we use this information

• To create and secure your account, and to let you log in.
• To send a one-time password-reset code by email when you request one.
• To process enrollment payments and grant access to the exam catalogs you've paid for.
• To respond to enquiries, support requests and refund requests.
• To meet our legal and accounting obligations (e.g. payment records).

We do not sell your data, and we do not use a student's name, class or activity for advertising.

Who we share it with

We share the minimum information each of these partners needs to do the specific job we use them for, and nothing else:

• Razorpay — to process enrollment payments.
• Mailjet — to deliver the password-reset email.

We do not share your information with anyone else for their own marketing purposes.

How long we keep it

We keep account and payment records for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward, to meet accounting and legal obligations and to handle any refund or support request about a past enrollment. You can ask us to delete your account and associated personal data at any time — see "Your rights" below.

Your rights

You can delete your account directly in the app — Settings → Delete account — which permanently removes it and its personal data (enter your password or PIN to confirm; this can't be undone, and it also removes access to any videos or study material you enrolled in). For anything else — accessing or correcting the personal information we hold, or changing the registered phone number (which only a parent/guardian can do) — contact us at navodayastudiz@gmail.com and we will respond within a reasonable time.

Security

Passwords and PINs are stored as one-way hashes, never in plain text. Communication between the app/website and our servers is encrypted in transit. We restrict access to personal data to the staff who need it to operate NavodayaStudiz.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as NavodayaStudiz changes. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do, and for significant changes we'll make reasonable efforts to let registered users know.
